Well, this is great. Not what I was expecting to wake up to. But another day, another verse in paradise.

[ He looks annoyed, but his tone is pleasant.]

There anyone from Lawrence here? [ In his experience things like this tend to happen in groups. It's selfish to wish his family's been dragged here too, but he'd be lying if the hope isn't there. ]

Anyone know a good place to get a drink around here?

[Conner binks once, twice, three times - he can barely elieve what he's eeing. In all of these years there have been very few situations in which the face that matches his own has shown up along with him and here he is. He can barely get the camera turned on he's so excited.]

[Conner grins, wide, the happiness that he's feeling.]

You should definitely check in with a couple people first.

[He laughs.]

I can't believe that you're here - you never show up when stuff like this happens!

[ He laughs, relief flooding through him at the sight of his twin. ]

I've never been happier to see your handsome face. Who else is here?

[ He shrugs. ]

Yeah, me either. One moment I was crawling into bed, the next I was here.

I can honestly say same. I feel like you never show up in these little fieldtrips.

[Conner really is relieved that his brother is here; much as it makes him feel like a teenager again, not wanting to be separated, it's good not to be. They may be adults now, but they're still close. They're still attached.]

So far it's Casey - who was here for a while, by the way - along with James and then me. Note she has been stuck here with James a while because I haven't been here long.

[Everyone from Lawrence, basically, knows that James is, basically, chaos. And that Casey has always had a crush on him - or maybe that's just Conner himself, but he knows his sister.]

At least you've got clothes on, I showed up in my underwear.

I guess I won the lottery this time.

[ There's always been a bond between them and the moment he knows it's not broken here, it puts him at ease. Whatever comes their way, they can face it together. ]

Shit. [ He knows James and he knows his sister, being here on her own with him must have been a handful. ] I bet that was fun.

[ He grins. ]

I always thought the universe had a twisted sense of humor.

I should probably feel worse that you're here too, but...

[Con shrugs, not going to be upset or beat himself over it; it's not like he willed it because he's got exactly no power over who comes in and goes out.]

Riiiight - apparently he's on good behavior for the moment. Calm before the storm is my guess.

[Conner pulls a face, fully serious about his guess. Izzy didn't wind up a shrew in his pocket for no reason, after all.]

No kidding. We've got to do family briefing/dinner now that you're here, all three of us, though.

Nah. If Casey can handle it, I can.

[ He's joking. He just can't pass up the chance to get a dig at their little sister. ]

You mean he hasn't even gotten started?

[ Now he wishes he'd been here earlier to enjoy that quiet before the storm. ]

What about tonight? I could use a drink and I want to see both of you. Though, it seems like you've missed me longer than I've missed you. [ He'd seen both of them only a few days ago. He was getting the feeling that it'd been longer for them. ] I'll even let you pay.

[Conner snorts.]

Don't need superstrength to brain multi-dimensional travel.

[Conner tacks on with a bit of a grin - yeah, he definitely missed his brother.]

Not yet, but you know him, it's a matter of time.

I'm in, and I guess I'll pay for the first round, but you're not conning me into picking up the tab for you all night, for the record. I've already learned that lesson, dude.

[ He grins. ] Fine, first round only.

Casey wants to go somewhere that serves food. Any decent places around here?

There are a few places, she say what she's in the mood for?

[He already knows that they'll cater to her - even though they couldn't help but tease - she's the baby.]

[ But he's grinning. ]
