IC ANON MEME

(( NOTE: Anonymous strikes again! All comments on that post will be considered game canon. If you want your character to participate with a top-level but you know that they wouldn't ICly do that, feel free to top-level them anyway and they're welcome to comment back that they weren't the one who put themselves on there if they get mad about Anonymous having done it for them. Anonymous gets their kicks from watching the "chaos ensues" portion of an IC anon meme (among other network shenanigans), so it makes perfect sense for them to have top-leveled for a character who wouldn't have done it themselves.

Really? I'm working on my Masters's degree in biomedical engineering, so it sounds like we like some of the same things! It's no trouble, sweetie, what else do I have to do around here? I have exactly one friend here so far, so. Yeah, totally. How often do you want to meet?

It sounds like we do, that's really cool! So far I've just been working and going to school, honestly - I also spend time with my roommate, though. There aren't many people my age.

Would you be able to start with twice a week and then once when I'm on track?

Oh, is your roommate closer to your age, then? You guys aren't living alone, are you? Not that I don't think you can take care of yourselves just because you're fourteen, but you never know when having an adult around will come in handy in a pinch, all the same. I'm the last person to judge someone's ability to protect themselves just because of their age.

He looks like he's my age, but he's actually almost 60 years old trapped in the body of a younger person. I think that he feels like he needs to look after me, a few people seem like they feel that way. There have been a few adults that have reached out and told me that they are here and willing to help me with things. I haven't really asked for much of it yet, I'm used to looking after myself, honestly - my sister was the one looking after me before that so it's a little new to have adults being so forward and willing to help.

( Because actually, Lydia has seen the whole older person trapped in a younger person's body before, see Derek Hale, but he had thought he was a teenager. He hadn't realized he was practically twice as old. It was like he'd completely regressed. ...no, it wasn't like that, it was that, actually. )

It's fine if you know how to look after yourself. But it's still nice, sometimes, to have an adult to turn to if the situation calls for it, is all. There were times that I needed to do that, even when I was a few years older than you and neck-deep in trying to help save my hometown; sometimes you just need an adult that you feel like you can count on if things get to be too much. So I'm glad there's some letting you know that they'll be around if you need them. That doesn't mean you ever will need them, it'll just be nice if you do. I'm guessing they feel like that because you're so young and most people your age haven't ever had to take care of themselves. Most people your age need the adults around them to do most things for them. Try not to take it personally, if you are.

Both are fine with me, only Thursdays, I would need to do it after dinner. Is that okay?

He does, he's the one that told me that he was that age - I thought he was my age before then. I had a little crush on him.

That makes sense, sometimes I still feel like I need, and miss, my sister - she was the person that I had back home. I haven't felt like I really needed the help yet, but enough people have offered it that I know that there are people who would be here for me if I asked. I can't ask for anything more kind from people who are still kind of strangers, but I do appreciate it and I'm not taking it too personally.

Of course, you're helping me so whatever is convenient for you.
