[ When the camera adjusts to him, it’s obvious that he’s in his room, and that he has already started converting it into a sort of lab - there are designs and notes tacked up on a board behind him. His notes are not legible - at least not to someone that doesn’t know his secret language when it comes to plans - but by the designs it’s obvious that he’s drawing a sort of suit of armor.

All in all, he’s not freaked out at all by the change of scenery. It’s almost business as usual, just in a different location. His hair is almost fashionably messy after working for — hours? He isn’t sure. But, before he speaks, he ‘fixes it’ quickly by running an armored hand through it. ]

Hey, I’m Tony. I’m new, but haven’t really gone exploring much just yet. Wanted to see if anyone wants to share suggestions of what I should try while I’m here?

[ He pauses, but only briefly. ]

Also, has anyone seen any other Avengers around? Trying to see if anyone else from my end of the universe are here, too.

[ Well, well, well. Klaus can appreciate a pretty face, there's no doubt about that. And the question just makes it all too easy. ]

I hear hard drugs and alcohol can be a real riot if you're into experimentation. Though I would be careful, a pretty face like that in the wrong club and you could go on a wild adventure. And not the fun safari type. Well, unless you're into that kind of thing.

[ He lets out a huff. ] For example ecstasy was mediocre at best and left me bloated. We can't have that. But shrooms and acid are where the real magic happens. Your brain will be shitting rainbows for weeks.

[ The appreciation is mutual, considering the face on his screen is easy on the eyes, and a smirk pulls at his lips. ]

Bold of you to assume I haven’t tried that yet. Do I seem that innocent? Here I thought the facial hair gave me at least some edge, but if I look so innocent maybe I’ll hustle someone at poker instead.

[ Oh, the mouth on this one. Consider him intrigued. He leans his chin into his hand. ]

Bold of you to assume I thought you were innocent. [ He smirks. ] The facial hair works just fine, but it's the D&D robotics you got going on in the background that brings it all to a screeching halt. Don't get me wrong, I love a man in a frilly costume, but that is next level.

[ He feigns a gasp, putting a hand over the faint glow that’s in the middle of his chest. ]

“Costume”? “D&D”? I don’t even know where to begin.

[ He raises an eyebrow, almost teasing. ]

But, what, you’re not into cool robotics?

Depends on what they are and where they fit. I'll try anything twice.

[ He smiles easily, but shifts around off screen for a second, an when he returns, he's smoking a cigarette. ] But don't let me offend your innocent sensibilities.

[ Five lifts an eyebrow as he watches the video and listens. He's noticing details: the lab already in the works, the metallic hand that; the drawing of the suit whose helmet looks like the one his former roommate had been building before he was sent back through the portal.

His brow creases a little at the name, but it's the mention of the Avengers — not something Tony had mentioned, but which Peter had — that seals it. Ho-ly shit, this is a younger version of Tony Stark. Or just...Tony Stark suffering the same fate Five himself had but somehow he doubts it. ]

Peter Parker was here before and he mentioned it. Are you Tony Stark, by any chance, kid?

[ He waves a dismissive hand suddenly, realizing how he would've reacted at that age to being recognized, but the thoughtful grin is still in place because hey. If it is Tony Stark, maybe he'd been a genius for several decades, and maybe, just maybe, they can finally get this fucking show on the road, fix the portals, and get the hell out of here. ]

Not a fan; just following a hunch.

[ Tony perks up at Peter's name, curious already that he had already been here before. A little bummed that someone he knows isn't here, sure, but if someone that he knows has been around then maybe that means someone else will follow at some point.

He's already nodding at his question, but the clarification makes him chuckle before he actually speaks. ]

A hunch, huh?

Yeah, I'm Tony Stark. So, is it a good or bad thing that you already know who I am?

[solipsistically]

[ Five smiles a little, nodding as he leans in a little closer to the screen to study the face of the other man. ]

Yeah, I guess I can see it... And I suppose the answer to that question depends on how you feel about parallel universes and time travel, my friend.

[ Oh, now he really has his attention. Tony's smile widens, not missing a beat. ]

Curious and intrigued are my first reactions.

And, not entirely surprised considering the laws of probability.

I knew there was a reason I liked you.

[ Five smiles a little and reaches off-screen, coming back with a plain, white mug, taking a sip of the coffee within before continuing. ]

When I first got here, there was a version of you a lot closer to my age than you look like you are. He was one of my roommates. I think he was trying to build that suit you've drawn up, there. He had a helmet, at least. And we were working on trying to figure out how to control these portals so they stop just snatching people up and spitting people out at random. He wasn't here very long, though, so we didn't get very far.

If you're a younger version of him and you're as smart as he was, then it's a good thing. If you're just a younger version with all the assholery and none of the brains, yet, then maybe not so good.

I think it depends on what sorts of things you're interested in trying, sweetie. Are we talking about tourist attractions? Foods? Local hot spots?

Oh I'm pretty open to suggestions and recommendations. I got the whole orientation pamphlet thing, but I'd rather hear from the ones that have been around already.

Nice to meet you, too, and fair enough. I've only been here a few months, so I've mostly stuck to local haunts for the time being. Soul Full cup has great coffee. Downtown, there's a music festival this upcoming weekend. Lando's and Perfect Spot are the best places to get a good drink, depending on the atmosphere you're looking for.

( She lifts her eyebrows with question, a small smile on her face. )

Does that help or should I keep trying?

[ He chuckles. ] That's definitely helpful, thank you. I'll take whatever you wanna give me.

Now that you mention it, I think I saw something about that festival for the weekend. Are you going to check it out?

( Smiling, Lydia nods. )

Yeah, they seem to have pretty decent taste in the acts they book for other events, so I'm curious to see what they've got to offer this weekend. You should come, it'll be fun.

Ah, another handsome face, just what we needed. You'd think people would start questioning why everyone here just happens to be so bloody attractive. Not that I'm complaining. Bringing that up would just ruin everybody's good time and I certainly wouldn't want to do that.

[He's outside somewhere but it looks like Sirius takes a seat for a proper conversation. He's personable and it's been a while since he's had such free access to new company, so although he has almost nothing to offer in regards to Tony's original questions, here he is anyway with a charming smile that comes with annoying ease.]

Just got here myself I'm afraid, so I'm still figuring out exactly what there is to do around this place. There must be a pub around here somewhere that isn't filled with middle aged alcoholics, I just haven't managed to find it. So when you do, please share your wisdom.

Ah, but apologies, how rude of me. [He gives a bashful little wave of his hand in front of his mouth followed by a very not bashful grin.]

Sirius Black, the one and only. At least, for now. Not particularly sure how that works here. Or how anything works here, really. [He's almost annoyed that the new guy seems to have no problem accepting the sudden shift in universe while Sirius is still working on how to use a toaster. Almost.]

So what do you avenge? I couldn't help but notice the name, makes me a little curious as to what the newest member of our hodgepodge little community is all about.

[ Oh, Tony can definitely appreciate what he says about another handsome face in this place because this one isn't half bad, either. As far as portals are concerned, this one is apparently a very generous one considering the people he has been meeting. ]

You're not so bad yourself. Whoever is bringing people over, I've gotta hand it to them, they've got great taste in terms of aesthetics.

[ Tony smiles. ]

It's nice to meet you, Sirius Black. I will definitely let you know if I find a good spot. And, you know, I'm trying to see if I can figure out if there's only one version of us or how it's all working. There's so many variables that it's hard to pinpoint it without the right tech for it.

But, beyond that, if you need help with how things work, I can help with that. I mean, I just got here too, but you know. I can give it a shot. What are you trying to figure out?

[ His features seem to brighten at the question of what they avenge. ]

Oh, yeah. We're a group of superheroes, and try to keep the world safe from all sorts of threats. We've dealt with pretty much anything you can think of, from all sorts of places.

They really do, don't they? I suspect there might be a jawline quota, you might want to look into that if you're trying to find out how people are chosen and dragged here.

[He really doesn't mean to laugh at the question, but he can't help himself. It's a generous offer, and a sweet one, Sirius knows, but-]

If I started to ask you all of the questions I have swimming around in my skull, you'd never have enough time to focus on the portals. No, no.[With a sigh he leans back, melting into the bench he's situated on and soaking in the sunlight.] You don't worry that pretty little head about me, Tony. If you ever run into a problem where your current tech runs short, you can always ask for a touch of magic. Who knows?

[It's obvious by his surroundings that Tony's main focus is tech, and Sirius doesn't let on how absolutely fascinating he finds that. Even if he asked he's sure he wouldn't understand, and he's not very much in the mood to make a fool of himself.]

A group of superheroes, you say?

[It's not really something that the wizarding world has but Sirius knows the concept; everybody does. There are some things in muggle culture so large they can't help but leak into his own world.]

Well I'm all for keeping the world safe from threats, I've dabbled in a bit of that myself. [He tried.] That being said, I always have room for a hero or two in my life. Where were you before this?

I'll check it out. Maybe I can make it so the jawline quota goes up, let's see what else comes through.

[ Tony chuckles, shrugging. ]

Well, the offer is there anyway. I don't mind.

[ And he really doesn't. He'll be busy trying to set up a new lab, and the portals will be a hefty project, but he really wouldn't mind helping Sirius if he needs it. ]

Oh yeah? Sounds like I'm in good company, then. I was in New York City, in 2019, so I didn't go too far in terms of geography or year.

How about you?

Oh no, don't do that. What, do you want blokes more attractive than us coming through? You're hexing yourself in the arse that way, mate. [Sirius gives the side of his head a firm little tap.] Got to think it through, keep us the pretty ones.

[He can't help but sigh a little when Tony says that he's all the way from 2019... of course he is. Everyone that Sirius has met here so far is only a year or two off of the current one, except Radar. Thank Merlin for Radar, saving Sirius from the title 'the old one' since 1950.]

It was '82 last time I checked. [He's almost positive that he was only in Azkaban for half a year which would have made it 1982, but time moves funny in the place. Still, that's the story he's sticking with.]

1982 and I just learned what a television was yesterday. Still sure about that offer? [His smile has the slightest mischievous edge.] You may have your hands full of me by the end of it.

_{[Radar comes into view with a confused frown on his face like he's still trying to figure out the camera, there's a teddy bear on the bed behind him which he shoves out of frame with a panicked look before turning back to the video]}

Uh, hi Tony, I'm Radar. I'm pretty new here myself, I mean I guess not as new as you but I've not been here very long at all. I don't have too much to suggest but I thought I'd say hello all the same!

Say, uh, you mentioned the Avengers and I was just wondering, well, did you uh-

_{[A thought appears to occur to him and his voice drops so much he's practically just mouthing the words 'other Avengers... Tony...' and then his eyes widen in surprise and realisation]}

Geez louise, you're Tony Stark! You're Iron Man! I've heard a' you!

[ If he sees the teddy bear or the way that he shoves it out of frame, Tony does a good job at hiding it. Instead, he just smiles with a wave when he says hello. He perks up a little when he mentions the Avengers, but when the surprise seems to hit him Tony can't help but grin. ]

I am, yeah. Hey, Radar, thanks for the welcome! It's nice to meet you. I don't think my suit made it with me so I think here I'm just Tony Stark, but it's nice to know someone is familiar with my work.

Do you like it around here, from what you've seen so far?

Familiar? I know all about you! And the other Avengers too! I-

[His expression turns sheepish, as though he realises he's being a little much]

Sorry, I guess you get a lot of people gushing over you, it's just not every day you meet a real live superhero! Well, [he giggles] I guess it is every day for you, but I've never- anyway. I'm sorry, I'm just a big fan.

[He pauses to think about the question, frowning slightly]

Well I miss everybody back home for sure, but this place is pretty great, the people are really nice and everything's so fancy... but I did come from a warzone so I guess my impressions might be a little different to some people's.

[themanofiron]

[ He chuckles, shaking his head slightly as if to reassure him to not worry about it. ]

It's totally fine, don't worry. It's always good to meet a fan.

[ His smile turns more sympathetic as he speaks, and he nods slightly. ]

I can see how that'd be the case. Everyone does seem pretty nice around here, so that's great.

How are you doing with adjusting from being out of a warzone? You alright?

[Radar tries to look cool and unaffected. It is not effective.]

Oh yea, I'm totally fine, no sweat, I mean...

[The facade, flimsy to begin with, slips a little]

I guess sometimes I get a little jumpy, or I keep waiting for something to happen and have to remind myself it's not gonna... but the food's real good and there's no snipers to worry about!
