Does anyone know how easy/hard it is to start your own business around here?
Locked to Derek
If you need anything, or your dog wants a visit from the little furry Hargreeves duo, just let me know.
Email to the Supers Relations Department
Hello,
I hope this email finds you well. I’ve been reading over the orientation packet, and wanted to inquire about formally registering. Could you please let me know what I would need to do to begin the process?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Kindest regards,
A. Hargreeves

I just haven't seen you around the network a ton and I've got nothing better to do with my time most days. If so, welcome, or...sorry, depending on how you feel about being here.
text;
Thank you. It’s not terrible, and some of my brothers are here, so that helps.
I’m Allison.

That's good. It's easier when you're not on your own. A friend of mine from home is here, too.
Eddie. Nice to "meet" you, Allison.
Were you looking to join us Lifers here or...?
[ It doesn't occur to him that someone who doesn't plan to stay would still find any value in trying to slog through the process of starting a business. ]

Nice to “meet” you, Eddie.
Not necessarily, I will need to head back at some point. It’s more to keep busy in the meantime. Idle hands and all that.

Thanks. You guys are welcome to come by to take advantage of the yard, too. Did they settle in okay? They were pretty attached to him, so hopefully having some of his stuff with the scent still on it will help them, if not.
[ Not that it's helping him, but then again, Diego's scent is fading fast from the house and it'll go even faster now that his siblings came by to take his things. ]

Sure, if you don’t mind, I’ll do that one of these days. And they seem a little bummed, but Klaus and I are spoiling them and trying to help them get comfortable. I’m taking them to explore a dog park that’s nearby, so I’m hoping they’ll like that.
[ She has spent pretty much all night either talking to Klaus, or reading up on how to be a good dog owner. She has never had a dog before, let alone two, but they’re her brother’s dogs and it’s helping her stay busy so she doesn’t mind it at all. If she stops then she starts thinking and overthinking so...this helps. ]

That's probably going to matter when tax season rolls around which is something I didn't think about and also kind of hate that I just typed. Thanks, though, I appreciate it.
ALLISON.
No, I definitely don't.
I can't really speak for Laura, but I'm willing to bet she wouldn't mind, either. They do like that dog park if you're talking about the one near the Summer Stage downtown. Diego and I took the three of them there a few times because there's more space and other dogs. We didn't want them to only be socialized to each other.
If you ever need anything, let me know. They're housebroken and pretty well-trained if I do say so myself, but Diego said you guys never had pets and I don't know if you had any after you left the Academy but... Dog training is what I DO, so...yeah.

DEREK.
Are you free tomorrow?
That’s the one, and that’s good to know.
I appreciate it. And, actually... I was looking up on training them more commands with hand signals and/or a clicker. They seem to hear me when I use telepathy, but I don’t want to rely on just that in case I ever can’t fully do it. Or something happens and I can’t “connect” with them. Do you think you can help me with that?
no subject
ALLISON.
I'm free most days. I make my own hours. I have a private lesson at 5 for an hour but that's all I have booked for tomorrow.
[ And he's been considering canceling it, anyway. ]
They actually do know hand signals and they respond to a clicker. Diego didn't usually use it, but I did train them with both a clicker and a mark word ("Yes!"), so they'll respond to both. I'll show you the hand signals. Back when I was still learning how to train puppies back in De Chima, they taught me to make sure that every verbal command has an accompanying hand signal so that as the dogs age, in case they lose their hearing, they'll still be able to respond. So yeah, I can help with that. That's no problem.
Derek
Oh that’s great! I hadn’t really tried, but yeah, if you could show me that’d be great. I feel like I’m learning about dog ownership as much as they’re trying to get used to Klaus and I, so anything you can share would be helpful.

His tone is curious rather than accusatory, but all the same, he can't keep himself from looking mildly suspicious. That's kind of his default expression. ]
Are you looking to start a business? Doing what?
video;
She shrugs slightly. ]
Nothing crazy. Just want to start a clothing line, or a modeling agency. Or both. I’m not crazy about the job I was assigned, but I don’t feel like just being home, either.
[ Correction: She can’t just stay home doing nothing. She’ll go crazy. The dogs are keeping her busy right now, but she’s already thinking about what will come after that. ]
Can’t exactly look into acting jobs, considering the lack of voice, so... Figured I’d get creative.

[ Not that he knows a goddamned thing about either of those industries, so as far as he knows, all she'd have to do is apply and be accepted. What the hell does he know? ]
Why not? Background actors don't get lines, usually, do they?
[ Again, it's not like he knows what the fuck he's talking about, so he's probably not being very helpful at all, actually. ]
no subject
[ She raises an eyebrow because, uh, no. She’s not going to be a background actress, thank you very much. ]
At the risk of this sounding like a complete snob, I don’t do background roles.
no subject
Too good for background, huh? Yeah, I guess if you're looking for a challenge, there's not much challenge in stage whispering at a cafe table in the periphery of a shot or crossing a street with a horde of people.
[ His smile softens into something slightly more serious. ]
Just be careful. Not everybody loves the Supers.
[ Translation: don't put yourself on the wrong radars, lest some disgruntled local asshole create more problems than they have the bandwidth to handle at the moment. ]

up and coming business woman
is there anything you can't do

TalkCome up with a good name for said business.
Although the idea of using our last name for something as “frivolous” as a clothing line or a modeling agency did come to mind. Dad would hate it. Which means I almost want to do that.
text;
but i think it would be incredibly thoughtful and touching to utilize the most esteemed hargreeves family name for such a classy and forward thinking business
really adds an air of sophistication with delightfully passive aggressive undertones
text;
Right? Delightful passive aggressive undertones is exactly what I was going for.

but even i must admit that anything you conjure will be brilliant as it always is
